Our Wedding

It was July 22, 2000 in the small borough of Shenandoah, PA. The most popular thing to do on a nice summer evening was to cruise around town and meet up with friends. In just one month, Michele would be moving away to college, and Scott was content with being single at the moment. Little did they know that when their paths crossed that night that their lives would be forever changed.Scott and Michele went on as many dates as they could during the next month, so much so that Scott ended up late for work one too many times and was ultimately fired from his job. It was a blessing in disguise, as Scott decided to go back to school to pursue a career in information systems.The next several years were tough. Scott and Michele were both focused on school and were only able to see each other on some weekends/holidays. Michele filled the void by joining Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and forged lifelong bonds with her sisters, all of whom helped her survive pharmacy school. During the first year of Scott and Michele’s relationship, Scott had to endure the death of his father, followed by his mother’s passing just two short years later. On 2/14/04, Michele surprised Scott with a kitten, named Dory.&nbsp;Dory kept Scott company for the next few years, until he moved to Philadelphia in June of 2007. Scott and Michele moved into their first apartment, and at last they were one very happy [and silly] family with their fur child. They were finally able to share their love of music, comedy, running, sports, and food together.&nbsp;The two constants in their lives have always been music and fitness, having attended countless concerts and running events over the years. They had the opportunity to travel to several cities to run marathons, including Scott’s Boston Marathon in 2012 and Michele’s NYC Marathon in 2013. Scott’s lifelong passion for music led to his current project in which he plays guitar in the band Ghost Of The Mill (GOTM).It may sound cliché, but we are the very best of friends (always two peas in a pod, as we say). Even after all of these years, we want to do everything together, and we complement each other perfectly. Although we’re not officially married just yet, we certainly do feel like a married couple after two decades together. When Scott proposed on that cold winter day, on 12/23/18, amongst the beautiful Christmas display at Longwood Gardens, of course the answer was YES! We look forward to sharing this special day with our dear family and friends! Cheers to 2020!

It is the nation's premier aviation museum that is devoted exclusively to helicopters. Established in 1996, the nonprofit organization collects, restores, and displays rotary-wing aircraft, including over 35 civilian and military helicopters, autogiros, and convertiplanes.

The 571-acre Stroud Preserve is a mosaic of once-pastured grasslands, working farmlands, and woodlands that serves as a unique site for recreation, education, and scientific research. Here, you can see the needs of people and nature in balance as careful stewardship of both cultivated and “wild” areas restores vital wildlife habitat, while also protecting watersheds that provide drinking water for tens-of-thousands of people. Stroud Preserve is one of many nature preserves owned and cared for by non-profit land conservation organization Natural Lands.

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center

The Battle of the Brandywine (September 11, 1777) was the largest land battle of the American Revolution, stretching from Longwood to Dilworthtown south of West Chester. The battle was basically an outflanking movement, with the final bloody meeting between Washington and Howe having taken place here at the hallowed ground of Sandy Hollow. This and Birmingham Park are the actual sites of the Brandywine battlefield. Sandy Hollow has a nice view overlooking a portion of the battlefield. Also, there's a mile-long, paved loop for walking/running as well as plenty of free parking.

Established in 2010, the Footpath at Birmingham Hill allows public access to a portion of the Brandywine Battlefield National Historic Landmark. The Footpath follows a 1.1 mile trail, adjacent to a split-rail fence along the perimeter of Brandywine Conservancy property and a segment along Meetinghouse Road provided by the Worth Family Trust. The area remains much as it was in 1777 - open fields and dense woods. An interpretive sign acknowledging the historic event is located at the beginning of the trail for visitors. The footpath can be accessed from a parking area on Birmingham Road, between Wylie and Meetinghouse Roads.

Birmingham Hill

Transport yourself to the 1700's at the Brinton 1704 House &amp; Historic Site. The house, built in 1704 by the Brintons, a Quaker family, is one of the oldest in Pennsylvania. It has been restored to its original state and is filled with furniture and other pieces from the 1700's. The House is open for tours Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 - 5:00, May through October, and by appointment.

Renowned for its holdings of the Wyeth family of artists, the Museum features galleries dedicated to the work of N. C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, and Jamie Wyeth. The Museum’s outstanding Heritage Collection is a cross section of American art, with a special focus on artistic practice in the Brandywine valley. Nineteenth- and twentieth-century landscape paintings testify to the beauty which drew well-known artists to the area. Important portraits, still life paintings, and notable holdings in American illustration add diversity and breadth to this unique collection.
